I'm reluctant to do that because tags/gobo-3.5 is meant to be
a tag, not a branch.

Why don't you use tags/gobo-3.5/work/bootstrap/bootstrap.(sh|bat)
to get the Gobo 3.5 binaries? geant.c and the other C files in
there were never meant to be used other than through these bootstrap
scripts.
