Hi! I just added a new functionality, a tab on the side panel to display 4 columns for labels, address, opcodes & operands and remarks from source code. display the start address, not really important but still a detail which was missing. I will add now the export function to get a text file of the raw object code or a formatted output using vintage basic for Tandy M102, writing easily asm subroutines to speed up such old computer. These minor modifications could nevertheless grab the interest of some vintage hackers still using Tandy M102 or such microprocessor. My question is How I push that? you want just a patch or by using git push? I need you to tell me how to proceed. regards. Johann Cordialement. ___JMoS___ |

Hello Sir. I was using GNUSim8085-Microprocessor Simuulator s/w for learning Assembly language. But I am facing some problems using it. After installing, when i ran the s/w, it gave an error - "an app has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." The s/w did not start. I had installed it many times, but it did not work. Kindly help me sir. |

Hi all, Binary packages for older releases of Ubuntu/Debian are available in gnusim8085-admins PPA [1]. Although the packages are only built for Hardy, they will work for any Ubuntu release since 8.04 (Hardy) and Debian release since 5.0 (Lenny). In case you don't want to go through the hassle of adding the PPA to your list of repositories, same packages are available from download page [2] and accessible via summary page [3]. Congrats on the release! Just a gripe: Users visiting http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnusim8085/ might end up downloading older releases; can we: 1/ disable that big green download button in SF project page 2/ add a note to direct users to the launchpad site for downloads 3/ disable that big green download button in http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnusim8085/files/ 4/ Add a note to http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnusim8085/files/ to tell visitors to that page that they are seeing old releases and the new ones are available at launchpad ? -srid On Sat, Feb 27, 2010 at 10:12 AM, Onkar Shinde <onk...@gm...>wrote: > We are pleased to inform you about the release of GNUSim8085 version > 1.3.6 Linux and Windows platforms. We are pleased to inform you about the release of GNUSim8085 version 1.3.6 Linux and Windows platforms. This is the first stable version after moving over to launchpad for our project management. With this release we bring to our users a wide range of new additions. Read below for some key highlights of this release. We appreciate your continued support in the form of bug reports (with patches ;)) and general feedback. Feel free to ask questions and get support through Launchpad's interface https://answers.launchpad.net/gnusim8085 You can join our development team here - https://launchpad.net/~gnusim8085-devel . We always have some work. Internalization Support ======================= The UI is now internationalized. Translations for Arabic, Asturian, Catalan, Esperanto, French, German, Gujarati, Italian, Kannada and Spanish languages now in place. New Features ============ * Print support - Print your assembly programs and contents of assembly lising window right from GNUSim8085 application. * Improved Windows installer with multi-language interface. The finish screen of installer contains a 'Run Program' option. * Experimental file handling with GIO APIs. Disabled by default. Use --enable-gio configure option to use. Usability ========= Several UI modifications to enhance user experience. * Show/Hide debugging sidepane to adjust horizontal editor screen space. * The assembler messages pane moved to the right to offer increased vertical editor screen space. * Cleared up icon clutter from the user workspace. Bug Fixes ========= Note: We have moved to Launchpad for all our bug management now. Below bug numbers are of SourceForge's. SF#1847830 - Make the UI i18n enabled SF#1942893 - Assembler listing window is too narrow SF#2356534 - Basic File handling errors SF#2462607 - Keypad should not insert instruction code while debugging SF#2462657 - Example programs must be read-only on Windows SF#2580092 - syntax highlighting for labels with underscore in symbol SF#2582426 - syntax highlighting for sp register (stack pointer) Known Issues ============ Minimal testing of printing feature on Windows shows that it does not work as expected. This is nothing specific to GNUSim8085. GTK+ printing APIs are not very well supported on Windows. Internationalized UI is not available on Windows. This will be hopefully fixed in next release. GTK+ runtime needs to be installed separately on Windows. This will be hopefully fixed in next release. Where to download ================= Starting with this release the release files will be available only on Launchpad download page. Please head to https://launchpad.net/gnusim8085 Packages for older Ubuntu releases are expected to arrive soon. Migration to Launchpad ====================== The project management is moved from sourceforge.net to launchpad.net. The work of migrating bugs from sourceforge.net to launchpad.net is in progress. Going forward all the project communication will happen only via launchpad infrastructure. Happy Simulating!!! -- GNUSim8085 Team |

Hi all, I have finally managed to give some finishing touches to the i18n infrastructure in our beloved application GNUSim8085. So this is a call for translation in your favorite language (other than English). Few notes about this. 1. We are using launchpad for translations. Go to [1] and get started. 2. Please note that translations done through launchpad need to be BSD licensed.[2] If you are not comfortable with this please do not use launchpad for translations. 3. You can alway submit translations to developers list or as patches when we start using LP for bugs. The license of the .po file needs to specified appropriately. For doing translations offline you can use other tools such as gtranslator. 4. If you plan to create the first version of translations for a particular language please announce it on the list in advance for better collaboration. The copyright of the .po file should be specified accordingly. 5. In case you are not seeing any languages at the bottom of the page [1] then make sure you have more than one languages set in your launchpad profile. Also, some interesting suggestions for projects should probably be summarized, as implementing a single feature only would probably not really satisfy the gsoc requirements. Well, maybe for the exception of generalizing the simulator to also emulate other processors and architectures, but most other RFEs are probably too trivial if implemented in isolation ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=579700&aid=1902889&group_id=86462 |

Support Requests item #2656830, was opened at 2009-03-03 02:11 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by nearfar You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=579700&aid=2656830&group_id=86462 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Screenshots for wikipedia/commons? Initial Comment: Hi, I created recently an entry on GNUSim8085 on de.wikipedia (German): http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNUSim8085) This is probably also the reason for the wealth of new feature requests and bug reports you guys have been seeing during the last couple of weeks: looking at the sourceforge stats, the download numbers and webpage hits have increased a lot since I added a link to GNUSim8085 to the German Intel8085 article. This is mostly because this processor is still used rather heavily in Germany during computer science and engineering courses, so there really is strong demand for a free simulator here, too! However, it would be good if someone could upload some nice screenshots of the simulator to wiki commons with an explicit license statement, so that I can easily and legally use these on the German article. Thanks for this neat free piece of software! All the best from Germany to India! PS: I am sorry for all the tracker items that got apparently posted as a consequence of this little marketing campaign, I guess that's how an increase in the number of users also causes new management challenges ;-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Sridhar Ratnakumar (nearfar) Date: 2009-12-24 13:16 Message: I will close this thread now (and look into why we are not getting notification emails). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2009-07-12 20:20 Message: Interestingly, that new German article on GNUSim8085 seems much more comprehensive than the English or Indian ones? What is it about? Does it provide any other info that is not mentioned in the other articles? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Onkar Shinde (onkarshinde) Date: 2009-07-08 04:10 Message: Hi. There seems to be some problem with sourceforge trackers. The developers have not received any mails regarding the latest tracker items. As to your request for screenshot, please feel free to pickup the only screenshot from 'Screenshots' section. Consider it licensed under CC-BY-SA. If anyone asks about license point to this thread. There is also a screenshot of Windows port. For now you can pick it up at - http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sEw404dL6VDDw5oqeIngnA?feat=directlink License is again CC-BY-SA. I will try to transfer this screenshot to 'Screeshots' section ASAP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Aanjhan (aanjhan) Date: 2009-07-08 03:54 Message: Thanks a lot for the marketing campaign. Appreciate it. There seems to have some changes with SF and we have not been getting any kinda notifications for this. And the devels were busy with random things the past few months. We will definitely look into the requests and get some things moving asap. Thank you again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=579700&aid=2656830&group_id=86462 |

May be the "Copyright" in the About dialog which is with you is the one making people to email you? Or you are the founder so people will obviously mail you ;) Anyway I will try to get in the users email ID as support mailing list in the About Dialog. Until then have fun. :) -- A |

Soumyadeep, I'm CC'ing the users list. Please post further support related emails there, not directly to me: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/gnusim8085-users Aanjhan/Onkar - if my email address is in the visible part of the application (eg: About dialog), then that may have to be replaced with users list address. Credits tab in the About dialog is an exception of course. -srid On Tue, Aug 18, 2009 at 1:15 PM, Soumyadeep Das<das...@gm...> wrote: > Sir, > I have recently taken to using your wonderful 8085 simulator program. > However , i cannot enter any hex numbers where both the digits are > alphabets. eg. Hi Folks, We have migrated our wiki to Trac. From now on we should be able to allow community contribution to our wiki as requested by a lot of people on SF tracker. A bit more of patience and we shall get some proper contents into the wiki and enable community contribution. Thanks and Regards, Aanjhan |
