Hi all,

Binary packages for older releases of Ubuntu/Debian are available in
gnusim8085-admins PPA [1]. Although the packages are only built for
Hardy, they will work for any Ubuntu release since 8.04 (Hardy) and
Debian release since 5.0 (Lenny).
In case you don't want to go through the hassle of adding the PPA to
your list of repositories, same packages are available from download
page [2] and accessible via summary page [3].

Disabling the download button does not seem to be possible. I have
added the note about launchpad to the project summary. This shows up
on both summary page as well as files page just above the download
box. I have also set homepage to our own domain (which redirects to LP
page), this shows up on summary page.

this would be important to help increase adoption of GNUSim8085 in
non-English speaking settings, maybe there could be a way to have the
simulator load all UI strings from some sort of text/xml file, so that

1. Press F1 or go to Help -> Contents
2. I suppose Alt + t should open the tutorial and Alt + o should open a program and Alt + c should close the window.
3. Alt + t and Alt + o bring the required action. Alt + c works
4. Also misplaced underline in the boxes with the erroneous options.

I am using 1.3.5 on Ubuntu 09.10. Please let me know if any other info is missing since this is the first bug I am logging.

Yes, its a nice idea to bring in more contribution. The current wiki is
based on the old SF wiki. I think SF now allows trac based wiki too. Guess,
we can move to trac based wiki and open up a "Resources" page for public
info sharing.

I have UAC turned off.

I accidently modified one of the example programs and there is no way to revert it back unless of course I reinstall the software.

On linux, examples in /usr cannot be modified by non-root users.

On windows, they must be set to readonly mode. Perhaps, the installer can do this job?

Pressing buttons in keypad normally inserts the instruction code.

When you execute/debug a program, the text editor is set to read-only. But keypad buttons violate this by inserting instruction text even when the text editor is in read-only mode.

Chitlesh,

Can you please explain why you needed to do these changes. There are no
hard coded paths in configure.in. Also callbacks.c does not contain any
patch to document folder.

Further this looks like a packaging problem to me. It seems that the value
of prefix passed to configure script is different than where the program
actually gets installed. Also <prefix>/share/doc/<name>-<version> does not
look a standard install location for documentation to me. It usually is
<prefix>/share/doc/<name> only.

I can confirm the crash with svn head. But the Ubuntu package doesnt seem
to crash. We might have to check the diff between the two source codes. I
remember fixing a similar bug some time back. 

@Onkar - Any pointers? I will have a look tomorrow during FOSS.IN

Hi all,

I have finally managed to give some finishing touches to the i18n
infrastructure in our beloved application GNUSim8085. So this is a
call for translation in your favorite language (other than English).

Few notes about this.
1. We are using launchpad for translations. Go to [1] and get started.
2. Please note that translations done through launchpad need to be BSD
licensed.[2] If you are not comfortable with this please do not use
launchpad for translations.
3. You can alway submit translations to developers list or as patches
when we start using LP for bugs. The license of the .po file needs to
specified appropriately. For doing translations offline you can use
other tools such as gtranslator.
4. If you plan to create the first version of translations for a
particular language please announce it on the list in advance for
better collaboration. The copyright of the .po file should be
specified accordingly.
5. In case you are not seeing any languages at the bottom of the page
[1] then make sure you have more than one languages set in your
launchpad profile.
