#16 What happened to the non-random-rotatable guns?

In original.dat it says:

} Gun | direction.direction2.shottype.moveable.rotateable.randomrotateable

The code for the non-random-rotatable gun is in board.c:917.

After a little investigation I found that robbo03.dat "RobboIII" is the only level pack with non-random-rotatable guns which is a renamed version of my robboviii.dat "RobboVIII" which I ported many years ago.

So what does this mean. Is the non-random-rotatable gun non-existent within Atari Robbo or are our level packs missing this object type?

As I have already mentioned elsewhere, the designer only creates rondomnly rotating guns i.e. x.x.x.x.1.1

I am going to do a little more investigation and check the original Atari Robbo 3 and see what the guns are doing.

    Ok, so I added rotation to some ridiculously difficult guns in RobboVIII (now within RobboIII) to give the player a chance of passing them; that answers that question.

    I think it looks like GNU Robbo supported non-random-rotatable guns from the start but Atari Robbo doesn't, so case closed.
