Hello,

First, gnuplot version:
gnuplot --version => "gnuplot 5.0 patchlevel 1"
gnuplot_x11 --version => "gnuplot 5.0 patchlevel 1"

Second, the platform:
running on CentOS 7
uname -a => "Linux template.kvmdomain 3.10.0-327.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Nov 19 22:10:57 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"
VM running on VMPlayer 12 with 2 CPU, 3.7 GiB RAM, 1.0 GiB swap
Native HW: Core i7-4790 @ 3.6 GHz with 8 Gb RAM, running W7 64-bit Professional

Third: the bug
I provide 2 gnuplot scripts to be copied in the same directory: tmp.gp (own data) and world_010m.txt (taken from the Internet).
When running the command "gnuplot tmp.gp" and hitting the '+' key from gnuplot window, I get the next message:
"gnuplot_x11: exec_cmd()->points: Cannot allocate memory"
and the gnuplot window disappears.
The moment of message output is not always the same. Sometimes it comes after 3-4 keypresses, sometimes after more than a few tenth of keypresses (in that case I use the 'u' key from time to time). Delay between keypresses seems to not be important to produce the bug, although I usually key in fast.
Looking to the system resources, I don't see a higher memory use when the bug comes and only about 50% of RAM + 0% of swap is used

Thanks in advance,
