No

Plot doesn't become monochrome in pdfcairo with 'mono' option.

Sample code is here.

set term pdfcairo mono
set output "test_output.pdf"
test
quit

Texts and objects are drawn in monochrome,
but lines and points example are drawn in color.
It also occurs in pngcairo terminal.

My environment is,

G N U P L O T
Version 4.7 patchlevel 0 last modified 2013-03-02
Build System: Darwin x86_64

I see the same output from "test" that you do. That can be viewed as a bug in the "test" command.

But this bug report also says "Plot doesn't become monochrome in pdfcairo with 'mono' option." I do not see that in testing here. For example
    set term pdfcairo mono dash
    load 'simple.dem'
produces a pdf file with no colors other than black.

Do you have an example of incorrect plots from a command other than "test"?

I have fixed this in CVS, at least for the "test" command. Please check and report if there were also problems in normal "plot" commands and whether they are fixed also.

If there are problems in the "plot" command then I think this fix will be needed in 4.6 also.

The invalid plot as mentioned at my first post can be reproduced by following script.

set term pdfcairo mono size 12cm,12cm
    set output 'test_invalid.pdf'
    plot '-' title ""
    1 1
    2 3
    3 5
    4 2
    5 6
    6 3
    7 1
    e

The case occurs only when 'title' keyword for plot command is used with empty string "".
Then, the following script produces valid monochrome plot.

set term pdfcairo mono size 12cm,12cm
    set output 'test_invalid.pdf'
    plot '-' title "foobar"
    1 1
    2 3
    3 5
    4 2
    5 6
    6 3
    7 1
    e

I tried your fix for "test" command.

It also fixed the problem of plot command with 'title ""' in my previous post.

    Thank you!

OK. I've applied the same fix to the source for 4.6.
Unfortunately it is too late for inclusion in 4.6.2.
    Maybe in the windows version...
