In x11 terminal, \"set view equal xyz\' doesn\'t work properly.
The following code shows that z-axis is not same size as x,y-axis.

set terminal x11
set view equal xyz
set xrange [-1:1]
set yrange [-1:1]
set zrange [-1:1]
set ticslevel 0
set parametric
set angles degrees
splot [-90:90] [0:360] cos(u)*cos(v),-cos(u)*sin(v),sin(u)
pause -1

In other terminals, the view option seems to work fine.

Is it a known problem?

    Known bug. Can't fix without re-writing gnuplot_x11.

Workaround that works for me: Use a square-shaped canvas, for example:

    set terminal x11 size 800,800

It seems that a solution had been found.

    Thank you.

Thanks to new code by Dima Kogan, the x11 terminal is now aware of the current and request plot aspect ratios.
