No

The new configure.in script didn't recognize ImageMagick libs besides they are installed on Mandriva One-Kde 2009:
libmagick-devel-6.4.2.10-5mdv2009.0
libmagick1-6.4.2.10-5mdv2009.0
imagemagick-desktop-6.4.2.10-5mdv2009.0
imagemagick-6.4.2.10-5mdv2009.0
They include:
/usr/bin/Magick++-config
/usr/bin/multiarch-i386-linux/Magick++-config
/usr/bin/multiarch-i386-linux/Magick-config
/usr/bin/multiarch-i386-linux/MagickCore-config
/usr/bin/multiarch-i386-linux/MagickWand-config
/usr/bin/multiarch-i386-linux/Wand-config
/usr/include/ImageMagick
/usr/include/ImageMagick/Magick++.h, etc.
I used several paths without success: --with-Magick=/usr/lib/ImageMagick-6.4.2; /usr/include/ImageMagick and others.
I need ImageMagick to process images using read_jpeg and related commands. GDL compiles without ImageMagick and run but is useless for me.
So, please SOS!!! Attached the log. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    The config.log header suggests you're not using the current CVS version- please try it as the ImageMagick detection in the configure script has changed two months ago.

    You can obtain the current CVS code by executing:

    CVS_PATH=/cvsroot/gnudatalanguage
    CVS_SITE=anonymous@gnudatalanguage.cvs.sourceforge.net
    cvs -d:pserver:$CVS_SITE:$CVS_PATH login
    cvs -z3 -d:pserver:$CVS_SITE:$CVS_PATH checkout gdl

    Hope that helps, regards,
    Sylwester

    Hi Sylwester and thanks a lot for your help.
    Actually GDL was compiled and is runing with ImageMagick. It was necessary to install ImageMagick from scratch, as suggested by Alain Coulais, and use the last GDL from CVS as you mentioned. After that, the following environment variables were set:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/plplot-x.x.x/lib/
    IDL_STARTUP=/path/to/gdl-x.x/src
    GDL_STARTUP=/path/to/gdl-x.x/src
    PATH=$PATH:/path/to/gdl-0.9/src

    *** But when a tried to compile and run a .pro that involves READ_JPEG and WRITE_PNG I received this message:
    GDL> .r fotondvi
    % Compiled module: FOTONDVI.
    GDL> fotondvi
    % Procedure not found: READ_JPEG
    % Execution halted at: FOTONDVI 25 fotondvi.pro
    % $MAIN$

    Why??? READ_JPEG.pro and a lot more are included in PRO folder. How could I use these .pro in my own GDL .pro?
    Thanks in advance and regards.

    Hello,

    The GDL_STARTUP and IDL_STARTUP env. variables allow definition of start-up code for GDL, i.e. code that is executed before entering the interactive mode. In order to tell GDL where to look for library .pro files use the GDL_PATH or IDL_PATH variables, i.e.:

    export GDL_PATH=/path/to/gdl-x.x/src/pro

    Regards,
    Sylwester
