GDL and SeaDAS

    I just downloaded GDL and all of the necessary complement parts (readline and plplot).  I would like to use GDL as a replacement for IDL to do analysis of ocean color satellite images using SeaDAS software.  Does anyone have any experience with GDL and SeaDAS?
    Here are some questions I have:

    How do I start GDL to see if it installed correctly?
    How do I set GDL as the source for SeaDAS programming?

      I am familiar with SEADAS.  Unfortunately it makes extensive use of widgets which are not yet supported in GDL.

      Thank you for answering my questions.  Are you currenlty using SEADAS?
      Are you using the version with the embedded IDL code or do you have a IDL license?
      Where can I find out more information on the widgets that aren't supported by GDL?
