Hello, I get following error-message:
root@Fedora2 klauslang]# gdl
GDL - GNU Data Language, Version 0.9.2 CVS

- Default library routine search path used (GDL_PATH/IDL_PATH env. var. not set):
- No startup file read (GDL_STARTUP/IDL_STARTUP env. var. not set).
Can you please point me to a solution for this problem?

Is it possible for GDL to visalize the outputs of this program at all?
I do not think so.
Nothing that you listed is a problem, so what exactly isn't working?
Hi, I got some ´files computed by RADMC-3D: spectrum.out, stars.inp, wavelength_micron.inp.
I am not experienced with this stuff but want to visualize this data. this seems to be easy wit IDL (?).
Because I am a dummy I have no idea how to do this with GDL and if it is even possible.
Can you please give me an advice??
Seems to me the first place you want to ask is the RADMC mailing list for how to run the IDL code. Then just replace idl with gdl.
I asked the author: no time for dummies.
The commands " .r viewimage and viewimage" do not not work for GDL (?) the author admits.
Any suggestions how to visualize this data?
Again, you give no details on what error messages your are seeing. I downloaded version 0.33 of radmc-3d and I get:
GDL> .r viewimage
% Compiled module: READIMAGE.
% Ambiguous keyword: POS
Now, I'm not sure what is triggering this. Perhaps Alain or Sylwester can chime in. It might come from definitions like:
But I really have no idea. It does appear to compile and run fine in IDL.
Hi, thank you for your efforts.
Iam afraid you are right, I am not the genius to solve the problem!
To remove all doubts: FiG1 aseen in: http://www.ita.uni-heidelberg.de/~dullemond/software/radmc-3d/ cannot be produce by GDL?
My first idea was GDL has no GUI but is able to, sorry!
