I'm trying to compile some IDL code from an outside source (http://ifa.hawaii.edu/users/zgazak/IfA/TAP.html). I'm new at IDL, but I know that this code works for people with the original IDL compiler. I get an error message about "XMANAGER" not being found; it appears to be a built-in IDL function, though there's no .pro for it in GDL's "lib" directory. Without a list of functions that are missing from GDL, I'm having a hard time figuring out if I've set up GDL incorrectly or if this is a missing feature. Does anyone know?
If it helps, I'm building the latest CVS version of GDL with all the optional libraries installed from apt-get.
The source code for xmanager can be found at:
It's only used for widget support which admittedly is not very far along in GDL.
