I dont think that this feature is currently supported in current GDL. However, the plplot documentation says that a TCL widget for that purpose is available. could mouse interaction to graphics be added?
The "cursor" procedure provides mouse interaction with X-windows plots (see http://www.exelisvis.com/docs/CURSOR_Procedure.html). I believe that delegating any interactivity to plplot would not be compatible with IDL's plotting command logic that is reimplemented in GDL.
thank you for the inof, is widget_draw implemented in gdl? i dont find it int he pdf documentation.
widget darw is illustrated here: http://www.physics.nyu.edu/grierlab/idl_html_help/widget_techniques9.html
Since three months there is a WIDGET_DRAW in GDL repository version.
I'm not aware of the completness of it, though.
If trying widgets, please do check the repository version of GDL as it covers many additions in this part of GDL.
