I'm trying to do a simple click and drag with a mouse in a direct graphics plot window. The problem is that the cursor procedure accepts the DOWN click, but won't accept the UP click at the end of the drag. You have to do another DOWN click to get cursor to accept the next UP click. I've attached my routine which I've tested in a simple graphics window made using the command: "plot,[1,2],[1,2]". This routine works as expected in IDL without the need for the 2nd DOWN and UP click.

I'm using the fink package 0.9.4-1 of gdl with Fink 0.36.3, mac os x 10.8.5, and Xcode 5.0.2.

Extraneous aside:
I'm using the macports library which I copied to /sw/share/gnudatalanguage/lib since it wasn't installed during the fink installation. The macports gdl wouldn't work since its plplot installation would not install the xwin device.

To make things a little clearer, the fink installed gdl works fine. The only problem is that it is missing a library of provided routines in /sw/share/gnudatalanguage/lib. It works fine without that library, but you just don't have access to those missing (~100) routines written in gdl.

Thanks for the report, at least the part concerning the cursor. (fink people should hear about the plplot and gdl installation problem you encountered).

Concerning the cursor, your clear example show that current CURSOR /UP behaviour is not the one desired and that should be corrected soon. Stay tuned.

Thanks, I did report the problem to the fink group.
