I am currently translating the file XXX into Vietnamese for The=20
Translation Project at the University of Montr=C3=A9al. I've encountered =
following typo, which I thought you might like to weed out in later=20

In the word _it's_, the apostrophe signifies a missing letter, as in=20
I'm =3D I am, you're =3D you are and he's =3D he is: it's =3D it is. By=20=
contrast, the word _its_ means "belonging to it". Where possessive=20
nouns in English have apostrophes [the dog's tail, the dogs' tails],=20
none of the possessive pronouns do. So you can remember _its_,=20
belonging to it, doesn't have an apostrophe, because neither do _my,=20
your, his, her, our_ or _their_. Summary:
it's - apostrophe means missing letter - it is
its - belonging to it, possessive pronoun like my, your, his, her,=20
their and thus does _not_ have an apostrophe
Native English-speakers confuse these two words all the time, so you'll=20=
be one up on them now. :)
Thankyou for making this file available.
