I've used 'tkbiff' for, maybe, eight years (or more).
One function it can provide is to only display selected
letters. As you might know, the 'tkbiff' tcl source
code must be edited to accomplish this.

I have 'tkbiff' setup to *not* display the hundreds and
hundreds of "mailing list" letters I receive daily (no
exaggeration!). This way, only personal and business
(i.e., more important) emails are displayed in the
popup window.

Any chance of providing this in 'gnubiff'?

I looked around some in "mailbox.cc". Though I don't
have the time to make the changes myself :-(, it
appears that it wouldn't require a whole lot of work.
Ideally, an external file (".gnubiffrc" or maybe a new
file, ".gnubiffre"?) could contain regular expressions
used to match against the 'mbox' header contents.

Anyway, just something for the 'gnubiff' "wish list"!

This feature is now available in the CVS version of gnubiff.
It will be available in gnubiff 2.2.2.

There are three new options: "filter_global_first",
"filter_global_first" and "filter_local". Currently there is
no nice way to edit these options though...
