The JTAG/SWD speed selection of the GDB Segger Jlink debug launch's 'Startup' tab appears to be a duplication of the debug speed selection of the 'Debugger' tab. In fact changing the selection from the default option of 'auto' seems to do nothing. The generated command line is not changed.

Discussion

  • not exactly. the speed selection in the Debugger tab is used to configure the GDB server initial connection to the target. it must be fixed, and relatively low. the speed selection in the Startup tab is passed later via the gdb client 'monitor' commands, after reset, and is used for downloading and debugging.

are you ok with this now?

    Hi Liviu,

Thanks for the clarification. I'm OK with this now. Perhaps the speed selection in the Debugging tab could be labelled 'Initial Debug Speed' to make it more obvious why it is set so low as a default.

    Thanks

    Stephen

  • could be labelled 'Initial Debug Speed'

in my current beta version it is already renamed as 'Initial speed', there is not enough space for the third word.

    is this ok?

    Hi,

Oh great! 'Initial speed' is better I think so yes, that's OK.

    Thanks

    Stephen
