I am trying to install GNU/Darwin on my ASUS laptop. It starts fine - loads the kernel and switches to framebuffer then it trys to mount root file system and i get: Still waiting for root device.
After reading forums i tryed supplying rd=disk0s1, but it still fails because it is unable to mount ufs. Is disk0s1 - first ide device fist partition? Another thing that may cause problems that i am installing from a USB CD drive. Maybe i should load some additional modules during boottime?
OpenDarwin version 6.1
Any help?

There are a number of things that you can try. Hardware support has broadened greatly in subsequent releases, which you can get at the following links.
Heh it seems to me that the problem is in my cdrom.. Darwin just doesn't see it as a device... Is there any way to do a network install or install it from a linux partition? any documentation on doing this? :)

You will probably want to have a look at the hardware compatibility list before you go any further.
