    Heya,

I am a relative 'nix newbie who is very interested in learning more about what is happening with the compatibility to x86 for both Darwin (and hopefully afterward) Mac OS X for x86.

If there are any links that any of you could point me towards to gain more information about the porting projects underway, that would be GREAT!

Otherwise its back to building a spare x86 box to install Darwin on and get learning   :P

    looking forward to some response

    Mr Green

The short answer is to install the x86 Darwin from Apple and start porting GNU-Darwin ;-}.  All of our documentation should be as applicable to x86 Darwin as to ppc Darwin, but everything will have to be recompiled.

You might want to check out the Achelous project, although I haven't heard much from them recently.

Also, you should use the Darwin Developer's archive, which contains much of the info that you are looking for.  Unfortunately, you will have to dig for it.  This link might get you started.   Best of luck!
