Well, it's out. I did a clean install and am compiling X (again) as we speak.
Anyway, I haven't had a chance to play around with this yet, but from what I've seen it should make everything much simpler. The console is considerably faster--a relief for those who, like me, could never manage to compile their own kernel. And since it's supposed to be similiar to the release of Mac OS X some other little annoyances should be fixed (i.e. there is finally a proxy libm).
Thoughts?

Here is the message that I posted to the developer's list about this.
I installed it and linked to my X11R6 and local directories. Everything worked... except netinfo. None of the web
documentation that I know of is good anymore, so I just copied over the
database from the other partition. Heck, that probably saved me alot
of work, but it is no good for newbies and disk-crash victims. So we
are going to have to come up with updated netinfo documentation.
That is the only glitch that I ran into. Everything went so smoothly
that I am really looking forward to our future with it.
The x86 support is exciting too. If any of you have a spare x86 box,
you should feel free to start porting GNU-Darwin. Please don't
sacrifice your firewall for this though ;-}. Hopefully, I will be able
to pick up the rear on x86 in a few months.
In other news, the 17" monitor attached to my cube is on the blink.
No problem there, as I don't really need it right now. I'll do a few
tests, and maybe ship it out to Apple in a week or two. (proclus grinz).

proclus
