I am looking for a helpdesk system to replace one that I wrote a few years back, and found your project at SF.
I was looking specifically for an open-source java-based system that I could extend to include message threading and issue 'promotion' to a request system.
I see the original target date was 8/2001, and was wondering what the status of the project was.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
We currently have a production system based on the common classes in the Gnowledgebase project (org.gnow). The challenge for us is to sufficiently abstract the base classes to provide a common platform for community wide use. We have begun this process in ernest. I would expect to see reference project for Gnowledgebase within a few weeks (time permitting). In the meanwhile, we are going to be checking more code out of our closed CVS repository into sourceforge on an ongoing basis. The ultimate goal is to have a very thin customized application layer on top of a common knowledge base engine. As soon as I manage to get "common" functionality extracted from our project, it will be conitnually posted to sourceforge.

Any update? Is this project still active?
