No

I cannot use the font "Goudy Bookletter 1911" in Xiphos. I'm guessing that it's because it ends in a number. When I choose "Goudy Bookletter 1911", the font that it sets instead is "Goudy Bookletter". If I edit the "~/.xiphos/fonts.conf" file directly and change "Font=Goudy Bookletter" to "Font=Goudy Bookletter 1911", it still does not work.

    darn strange.

first, you are correct, digits are being erroneously stripped. that is readily fixable.

second, the deeper problem is as you noticed, that even editing fonts.conf directly to add " 1911" does not help. i have traced to see that xiphos correctly obtains the (fixed) font name, and inserts that name into the font element of the html startup stanza, but webkit nonetheless fails to render using that font.

i can't explain this yet. i fear this may be a bona fide webkit error, but i simply don't know yet. mostly i just wanted to let you know that some initial consideration has been given to the question, but i have no idea of a proper fix yet.

closed here in sourceforge as we complete our move to github.
    see https://github.com/crosswire/xiphos/issues.
use the Labels pulldown there to distinguish between bugs and enhancements ("feature requests").
