#2 doesn't activate changes on second screen panel

I have a dual-head setup with (gnome-)panels on both screens. Whenever I apply changes to the panel's color attributes, only the panel on the main screen seems to get affected. I have to killall gnome-panel in order for the panels on the second screen to get the color attribute updates.

In fact, if I start gnome-color-chooser on the other screen, it does not reflect the panel settings of the primary screen. i can set the same colors as on the primary screen and Apply and the second screen will be updated. But this solution seems rather "hacky".
