#1 PCL page accounting

I read a discussion in the message list archives about doing the print accounting for PCL printers,
but it was a little hard to follow so I thought I'd ask what was decided about it.

As someone pointed out, for a college, print accounting has to be dead-on every time or it's
unusable. Someone also suggested using the PostScript implementation instead, but as HP's
support for standard PostScript is increasingly -- ahem -- shaky, we're being forced to shift to
PCL.

SO: Is there anything in gnome-print that could grab that page count using a PCL command? I
know it's possible... the PCLTools web site describes a procedure for their PCL compiler which could
query such information. But it's an awfully expensive compiler to buy for a single, one-time task.
