I have experienced the following situation:
I started a .torrent that included a & in the
destination filename.
The destination filename got renamed to original name,
but & is replaced with %20.
Some data got downloaded, no problem so far. Then I
stopped the download, and came back later to resume. I
get asked if i want to resume, but upon clicking on
continue, a window pops up that wants to be told where
i want to save the file. However i cant select
anything, ok doesn't close the window, directories are
entered though i want to select them. The only
possibility i had to resume was to rename the dir, let
a new one be created by gnome-bt, and move the old
incomplete file back there.

This should be pretty much squashed come 0.0.25 (0.0.24
probably took care of most of it, though).
