FYI, I got it to compile just fine using OLD_CPP on my linux box.  Now I'm
trying to get HawkNL to compile on my FreeBSD box =)  I always love a
challenge.  I'll give any feedback on the API itself once I get some time
to fiddle.  I'm sure excited!
