Makes perfect sense.  The docs I saw said that 2.96 was what was 
supported so I didn't use OLD_CPP.  I'll try that first thing tomorrow.  
Good luck with school!  I too am finishing up a degree and it's lots of 
work.  I'm sure excited to get started with gnelib!
