gmodconfig-data 0.2 is released

gmodconfig is a tool that helps Linux users configure kernel modules without having to manually edit /etc/modules.conf. The gmodconfig-data package provides XML files that gmodconfig uses to display a link to a module author's website and translations of the modules parameters descriptions. This version has new XML files for webcam modules and a French translation of their parameters.

gmodconfig 0.6 is released

gmodconfig aims to provide a simple way for end-users to download, install, configure and update Linux kernel modules, in the language of their choosing, through an easy-to-use graphic interface.
This release provides the core of gmodconfig as a Bonobo control. On Linux this enables applications to easily provide a driver configuration and installation interface to their users.

gmodconfig 0.5 is released

gmodconfig aims to provide a simple way for end-users to download, install, configure and update Linux kernel modules, in the language of their choosing, through an easy-to-use graphic interface.
This new version provides GUI improvements, like allowing module parameters to be visually grouped. It also supports kernel 2.6's modules. The DKMS package installer has been improved to support both tarballs and RPMs.
In addition, the kernel modules metadata used by gmodconfig are now released separately in the gmodconfig-data package.

gmodconfig 0.4 is released

gmodconfig aims to provide a simple way for end-users to download, install, configure and update Linux kernel modules, in the language of their choosing, through an easy-to-use graphic interface.
This new version provides bug fixes, a search box to quickly access modules by name, GUI improvements in the Parameters tab, and it supports downloading and installing kernel modules packaged for DKMS.

gmodconfig aims to provide a simple way for end-users to download, install, configure and update Linux kernel modules, in the language of their choosing, through an easy-to-use graphic interface. The backend consists of XML files that contain the modules informations and translations.
Release 0.3 supports configuring kernel parameters and checking for the latest version of a module. It also features assistant druids to help module authors generate the XML files gmodconfig depends on. It comes with an example XML file for the ov511 driver. French and Portuguese translations of the GUI are provided.
