Ccing gmod-ajax list, since he JBrowse community probably has better feedback on authentication than I do. Most people who password protect JBrowse installations use the standard HTTP Basic authentication, configured at the level of the web server. This works fine with JBrowse, and no additional configuration is needed, as long as he JBrowse main page (jbowse/index.html) is configured to be authenticated under the same scheme as the other data resources. There hasn’t been a lot of demand for additional authentication features, but the dev team is certainly open to discussing adding some. Hope this helps!
