Hi All, As in year's past the GMOD group has been involved with the Google Summer of Code under the the organization called "Open Genome Informatics". See the email below forwarded from Marc. Google essentially funds a remote student to work on an open-source project of your choice. I participated two years ago and had a good experience with it. You can participate by contacting Marc Gillespie, Robin Haw or Scott Cain (emails below). You need a project idea for the student to work on over the summer. If you'd like to know more about how it went for me I'd be happy to answer any questions. I did find, though that because the summer goes by so fast, a Drupal-related task is probably not best because Drupal has a high learning curve. If you have some other work, such as visualization that can be done outside of Drupal then that might be more appropriate.
