Apollo v1.2.3
Bug description:
1. Use the ensj adaptor to connect to the
kaka.sanger.ac.uk server, select database
fugu_rubripes_core_9_1.
2. In the Region group of the Apollo:load data dialog
select Chromosome and enter Chr_Scaffold_4746, 10000,
20000 into the Chr, Start and End fields respectively.
Click OK to load data. Note that it takes about 3
minutes for the progress bar to reach its end and the
load data dialog to go away.
3. A browser window appears with a "Couldn't load
region" alert box in front of it. Click OK in the alert
box. A small "loading sequence window" appears and
takes focus. The small window stays forever (OK, 10
minutes at least). The browser window is not refreshed
when the small window is moved over it.
4. Repeat steps 1-2, using the same parameters but
change region start from 10000 to 1. Note that despite
the increase of region size, the load dialog disappears
in 1'40'' instead of 3'. Alert box doesn't appear,
browser window is usable.
5. Repeat steps 1-2 using the 10000-20000 and 1:20000
region ranges, but use a local EnsEMBL MySQL server
instead of kaka.sanger.ac.uk. Note that when
10000-20000 region is used, a notable slowdown occurs
in the load dialog when the "loading gene features"
status message is displayed. However, when local server
is used sequence is loaded OK, no alert box or "loading
sequence" window appears.
