When gbrowse calls chado's get_feature_by_name with a
unmodified string (ie, there is no class prepending the
search term), a class that is the segment class (eg,
'chromosome') is passed in, making the the gfbn method
search only terms that are in that class, making it
almost universially fail, since people typcially are
searching for genes or mRNA. The gfbn method has to
get the automatic classes from the conf file if the
class is equal to the reference class. Question: can I
get at the conf file from Chado.pm?

Try defining an "automatic classes" option in the config file.

Fixed--I was trying to be too clever. Now I let Browser.pm
    do the heuristics.
