    Hi Paul,
don't know exactly because SF doesn't offer ftp nor ssh
access for the files area. But I have opened a support request
for this. Maybe they have an idea for this.

    Regards,
    Tilo Muetze

Here is my question and the answer from the SF staff
    (#599730):

    Initial Comment:
    Hi,
is it possible to have daily snapshots in our file area (the
filenames are identical for every day)? Do I have to
create a release for this and simply upload the daily
    build via ftp or ssh?

    Regards,
    Tilo Muetze

    Greetings,

Since the File Release System does not currently provide the
means to remove temporary releases (such as daily
snapshots), nor to automate the release process, we
recommend that you place daily snapshots in the project web
space for your project instead of the File Release System.
You should be sure to clear out old daily snapshots
periodically, as well, as space is limited (projects have a
100MB soft quota for their web space); please contact us (by
submitting a new support request) if your project has
special needs that we need to consider.

    Thank you,

So I think there is no possibiliy for doing this. But I agree that
the file-names could be named more appropriate.
