I'm getting inverted axis on many of them. Don't know if this is a feature or a bug. For example this one: https://www.shadertoy.com/view/Ms2SD1 ... I could just globally change the axis in the code but if it's a bug I'll just have to change them all back later (BTW that Shadertoy needs the imouse part removing but it's very simple to do with this one).

Discussion for QuestionsAnswers page

Originally posted by: bruno.he...@gmail.com

Full screen on external monitor

1) plug your external monitor 2) In Preference / Rendering / Fullscreen : select the target computer monitor (Monitor 1)

BUT, admittedly, this was not tested on OSX (I don't have a Mac)

Discussion for QuestionsAnswers page

Originally posted by: DLJonsso...@gmail.com

With a MACBOOK CMD + F with MAC OSX simply makes the screen full screen on the laptop monitor.

When using an projector or external monitor this does not work, because the output screen returns to the laptop monitor and its not possible to move it to the external projector monitor.

We can't get rid of the "OUTPUT WINDOW" chrome top bar no matter what we try in display or other settings.

So I guess the question should be -- how to get full screen on an external monitor or projector, getting rid of "Output Window" chrome/bar?

CMD+F does not appear to work on an external monitor.

Discussion for QuestionsAnswers page

Originally posted by: bruno.he...@gmail.com

What is the full-screen hot key for GLMixer output screen when running on MAC?

Discussion for QuestionsAnswers page

Originally posted by: bruno.he...@gmail.com

RAM usage have a control in preferences

Set the target maximum RAM for each video loaded in : Preferences / Sources / Video Source / Maximum buffer size

Recording bottlenecks

Admittedly, GLMixer recording is not fully optimized. The message appears to warn you if the targeted amount of frames (time x FPS) was not achieved. There are limitations at various stages:

GPU to CPU frame copy : transfer of pixels from graphics card RAM to central CPU RAM is notably slow with OpenGL. I recently found a trick that I will try to implement. (http://www.roxlu.com/2014/048/fast-pixel-transfers-with-pixel-buffer-objects)

encoding in MPEG : libav encoding is multithreaded, but still this takes time. I have on my TODO list to upgrade the code to latest libav implementation and to optimize multithreading parameters based on client's abilities (number of COREs).

saving on the Hard Drive : using non compressed format avoids the encoding, but requires high access to HD for writing large amount of data (and creates huge files). Saving to SSD (or RAM) drives might help.

All the above stages are dependent on the amount of data per frame, i.e the rendering resolution. Lower resolution is faster (but obviously not what you want...).

I was going to investigate into the real time H264 encoding in GPU, but I am facing technical problems with nvidia drivers and CUDA. This will require a bit more time.

Chroma key issue

There was a bug with chroma key when disabling the filters in preferences. Its now fixed.

Discussion for QuestionsAnswers page

Originally posted by: DLJonsso...@gmail.com

Today I updated from the SVN and am finding GLMixer to be much more robust with FullHD video.

Since I'm now running with an SSD I'm unable to test the sort of crash that would occur as soon as GLMixer began to swap on a mechanical drive.

So far although I've been able to slow GLMixer down with loading of files but

--- I haven't been able to crash it as before.

It appears if more resources are now allocated to the CPU but I can't be sure.

Does the feature to limit RAM usage have a control in preferences?

** What are the bottlenecks in Recording?

With FHD I continue to often get percentages of dropped/unsynced frames and am wondering if there is any adjustment I can make to minimize that. So far sometimes I shut the output and preview windows when recording these real-time composites, which gives me a bit more bandwidth, but most often I get a prompt saying something to effect, recorded lower than

FPS (my FPS output setting) or at end of recording it tells me anywhere from 18-90% of

frames did not take.

**

Thanks again for a great application, I hope to get back to using it more in the following weeks.
