How to report a bug of GLMixer
- What was your action when the program crashed? Open a file? Delete a source?
- Get the program logs from your system temp directory
To find the program logs:
- Launch GLMixer again
- Open the Logs : View / Widgets & Toolbars / Show Logs (or CTRL+L)
- Clic on 'Show location of log file in the system' (first icon to the left)
- In the file browser (finder) openned in the temporary folder (e.g. /tmp under linux), locate the log file corresponding to the crash : its name is in the form
glmixer_log_[longnumber].txt
NB : The number of the log file is the date and time of the creation of the file in the form YYMMDDHHmmss (year, month, day, hour, min, seconds).
Typically, your crash log should be the latest (highest number).
If GLMixer does not behave in the expected way
- What was the action that caused the bug?
- What was the expected result and the (bad) result obtained instead?
Send the report
- Go to GLMixer homepage at SourceForge and open the Tickets tab
- Login and Create a Ticket (you can create a sourceforge account for free )
- Leave all as default and write the description of the bug
The description of the bug should contain:
- OS (Windows, OSX or Linux)
- Version of GLMixer (see About GLMixer): e.g.
1.7 r1674 (the revision number r is important)
- The action causing the problem, or the last action before the crash (see above)
- If you have it, attach the log file.
Alternatively, if your report is more of a question, you can create a topic in the general discussion
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP !
NB: if you really do not want to create a sourceforge account, you can contact me directly (see About GLMixer in the program)
Hi! Im new with this software and want to learn more. I have a VJ gig in two weeks but I cant get the learning going cuz the preview window wont work. I've tried to change preferences but nothing happens. What can I do to see the work I am doing in preview? I have a PC btw.
Thanks, Sofia Palm
Hi
Please create a ticket and give the logs and more information on your OS and computer (read above how to). Also check the page https://sourceforge.net/p/glmixer/wiki/Performance%20Improvements/ for some hints on hoe to improve rendering.
