With Version 1.7 1694 & Ubuntu Studio 17 - Xfce when moving clips from left to right the entire GLMixer screen stretches to the right and goes off of the screen.

I've narrowed it down to one clip that consisently stretches the screen to the right when moved into the center of the lamp element in GLMixer. The file is attached.

Ah Ah ! It is just because the name of the file is very long that the information status bar extends to display the full information and enlarges the window ! Not a nice 'feature' indeed.
