Now with single player mission the game got a feeling
of beeing "short", i think with some network play (or
lan at least), could help to play more and more with
this game.

Surely it will be more complicated than for a round based
strategy game like Wesnoth (wesnoth.org). Perhaps you can
follow the strategy of this Project: For network, there is
no peer-to-peer but a "server", that you run on the best
powered machine or even on a physical server in LAN (or
Internet). I think this would make ports to other systems
easier, too. Glest 2rc runs super on SuSE 10.1 :-) ;
Btw. Wesnoth 1.1.x, although mainly developed for Win is
faster on a SuSE Installation on the same computer! I know
why I don't like M$ Win ...
