Glaze is a free, open-source desktop player for YouTube on Windows 11. It opens youtube.com in a window of its own and restyles it; it is the real site, signed in or not.

On the video page, suggestions, comments and the title block are hidden, so the video fills everything under the top bar, and each of them comes back with one switch. When the window is wider than the video, a blurred copy of the picture fills the margins in place of black bars.

The top bar, side menu, menus and player controls are frosted glass over a wallpaper, with the blur on a slider from off to 200%. SponsorBlock 6.1.7 is built in and skips the sponsor segments its users have marked. There is picture in picture (Ctrl+P), always on top (Ctrl+T) and a video grid whose card width you set.

Glaze is not an ad blocker: the ads YouTube plays in videos still play. It is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

An installer that updates itself, or one portable .exe. GPL-3.0, no telemetry.
