I started with Xlib (before GTK was around), and didn't like it. Then I moved to GTK when that showed up. It was better than Xlib, but still 'ok.' I then moved to Qt, which I liked tons better. Then Gnome arrived. I tried it, and it's 'ok,' but I still am not a big fan of the whole GTK thing. Making custom widgets is a total pain in the butt and some of the widgets were a total pain in the butt to use (GTKClist comes to mind). Qt has always been logical. > > wxPython is an idea.
