Category: Build Process Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Volker Stolz (volkersf) Assigned to: Richard Guenther (richi) Summary: varargs on FreeBSD 5 Initial Comment: Somehow FreeBSD 5.x's va_copy is not detected and memcpy breaks on other architectures than i386, e.g. alpha. Currently, the attached patch helps. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2011-04-07 16:12 Message: IMrQNQ xndbfuvbsohv, plhcqochsiux, [link=http://vyjarldhxhcm.com/]vyjarldhxhcm[/link], http://nxiepegsbejz.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2004-03-26 19:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 As always, testing ia32 is mood - the patch fails on ppc because I missed some spot - and viola - va_copy is back :( Added a check for it (but no workaround for a missing one) to unstable CVS, too. See attached patch "p2" for a working version (for systems with va_copy). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2004-03-26 17:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 I checked it on debian unstable on ia32. But it should work in theory because now we avoid the fragile va_copy stuff. Checked in into unstable, will backport soon. Thanks for the report, Richard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Volker Stolz (volkersf) Date: 2004-03-26 17:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=126328 Yes, glame builds fine with your patch as well. Thanks! I didn't check if it's doing what it's supposed to do though :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2004-03-26 12:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 Ok, can you try the attached patch which just removes the need for va_copy? It's untested, but maybe you get the idea and can fix up any simple errors I made. Thanks, Richard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2004-03-26 11:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 I guess it's time for a configure check. I'll go over this piece again. Don't exactly remember why I put the memcpy fallback in, but I think I should drop it in favor of a configure failure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101627&aid=923803&group_id=1627 |

Mitchell (klmitch) Date: 2003-10-01 21:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=65117 I have a config.site that sets CFLAGS like so: CFLAGS="-g -Wall -pedantic -O2" With "CONFIG_SITE= ./configure" it seems to compile properly. When I earlier attempted to compile the package via rpmbuild -ta, I had the same error. I had assumed (incorrectly, it would seem) that rpmbuild cleared that environment variable, which is why I didn't attempt to isolate the problem in this fashion before. (I love the gcc extensions when I can use them, but often I can't use them because my software has to be cross-platform--which is why I have a config.site in the first place...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2003-10-01 17:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 Well, you shouldnt use -pedantic as we're using gcc extensions (and require gcc for build). But I thought we had a configure check for this, which is appearantly not working with your way of passing extra C/CPPFLAGS. How did you exactly configure? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101627&aid=815963&group_id=1627 |

I think the 1.0.1 version was using gnome 1.2 or 1.4 and the old libgdk_imlib.so.1.9.14 that was linked to libpng2. some other libraries were linked to libgdk_imlib.so.2.0.0 and that was the problem. With the gnome-2 support all those problems were solved, as I have most of the gnome-2 libraries installed. Writing this I hope that it would be useful to somebody else. If you have time to waste, don't hesitate to waste it on glame, of course. Feel free to send in patches to this list. Is there a way to make it run in KDE? I'm not sure about the internals of Gentoo's glame package, and it might well be that it doesn't create a KDE menu entry for you. However, opening konsole and starting it by typing "glame" should work in any case. *nold. |

The glame-users list is now moderated for non-member postings as well. I have taken measures (again, *sigh*) to reduce the amount of moderation requests I get, so from now on all postings from infoseek.jp are automatically discarded. I also noticed two messages that I missed for moderation processes, these have been late approved now, but I hope this doesn't happen too often. Sorry about that :( Richard. |

I don't intend to fix the clash with port? though, and some of the deprecated interfaces we use are also not going to be fixed as its just too much work. So as of 2.0.2-rc1 remaining issues won't be fixed unless they cause build or runtime failures. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2006-09-14 09:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 In case 1.6 compatibility can be maintained we can probably fix (some of) these. A release candidate for Glame 2.0.2 is now available from the SourceForge download repository. This release brings us forward to updated build environments of recent Linux distributions and should fix issues that 2.0.1 has with respect to guile and gnome. Please give it some testing with your favorite workload. Thanks, Richard. |

Hi, Thank you for creating this wonderful application. I just have a question. I have Gentoo x86_64 with KDE and I did emerge glame from the portage, it emerged fine but I cannot find any way to launch glame GUI. Does glame only work in GNOME? Is there a way to make it run in KDE? Thank you. PHAM Ngoc Hai. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Now that's room service! Dear Glame Developers, I seek help from designers, developers, testers, defect fixers, project managers or playing any other key role in Free/Open Source software development or maintenence in carrying out a study on practices and problems of defect management in various Free/Open Source Software projects. The insights gained from the study can further help us to extract publicly accessible defect data and determine impact of defect management practices on software quality. Please spend a few minutes of your precious time to fill up the Questionnaire. The most of the questions follow multiple choice formats and are quite easy to answer. To have the Online Questionnaire, please visit: http://anu.puchd.ac.in/phpESP/public/survey.php?name=FOSS_Defect_Survey (You can also copy and paste this link into your browser, and hit the 'Return' key.) I hope you will find all the questions interesting and thought-provoking. Your answers will be kept anonymous. The data thus collected will only be used for research purpose. It would be nice if you may further refer this mail to others actively engaged with Free/Open Source Software development. If you have any query or suggestions then feel free to contact. Thank You With regards, Anu Gupta Senior Lecturer Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh. hello I found your very interesting project at sourceforge.net. It is really a pitty that you discontinued it. For this reason I want to ask you if I am allowed to get the project. I have experiences in programming since 16 years and I am currently unemployed and waste my time. You will make me very happy if I get the job. Best regards and many thanks, John D. |
