I am migrating an application from Ubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 12.04. The application was working fine for years.

Now when I run glabels-batch, the output PDF file is blank, no text. If I print using the GUI with the print dialog and "Print to File" printer, it works fine.

Attached are the following files: input.csv (the input file, tab separated), companyu.glabels (the template), output-gui.pdf (output from the GUI) and output-batch.pdf (output from glabels-batch), debug.txt (execution trace with GLABELS_DEBUG=1)

The command line is "/usr/bin/glabels-batch --input=input.csv --output=output-batch.pdf companyu.glabels

Locale is en_US.UTF-8. The data is in Chinese.

I am not able to recreate this. Are you running "glabels-batch" or "glabels-3-batch"? Since 3.0, glabels and glabels-batch were renamed to "glabels-3" and "glabels-3-batch" to allow them to be installed in parallel with older versions. This is normally transparent to the GUI user since he/she does not normally launch from the command line. Perhaps you have an older version still installed?

This is my problem too. glabels-3-batch doesn't print non-ASCII characters. Disappear all the lines or words that contain other characters. My problem is with "öäå", I have to abandon my idea of a web interface for people in the office.
On GUI mode prints everything good.
