how about giving her a nice JRE package incl. gl4java ?

jre/lib/ext/gl4java*.jar
jre/lib/ext/png.jar

jre/lib/<arch>/libGL4Java*.so*

where <arch> is ppc, i386, .. 
as you can see in the directory..
