    We have just released the 2.0 version of WebWinds. The 3D rendering
interface between OpenGl and the
various platforms was written with a lot of help from the gl4java group.
However the code has been
severely customized to our particular application as the 3D is just a
part of  a 160,000 line java application.
You can download from http://webwinds.jpl.nasa.gov  (its free) . We have
tested on Mac, Sgi, Sun, Windows
and  Linux and the OpenGl run just fine.
