GKrellFah2 V1.1.0-1 released to FIX First Time User Bug

First time users may have experienced a segfault preceded by the message "gfahStats: gfah_get_urls...". This was caused by my failure to protect against the first use of this plugin where nothing is valid. I have corrected this issue with V1.1.0-1. Please let me know if you discover any other problems. Gkrellfah2 released a F@H statistics program

gkrellFah2 Release 1.0.7 released!!

I found a bug deep in the code that parsed the F@H executable name. This code wiped out the name if it did not find a '.exe' on the end. This would cause gfah2 to not reconize the executable as active and maybe even attempt to start the execable again and again if the auto_start/auto_restart options are turned on.

Release 1.0.7 contains this fix.

gkrellfahCS Release 0.1.3-1 fixes startup - not clientmode

When the gkrellfahCs package is installed on your machine and you attempt to start gkrellm normally. Gkrellm attempt to load the gkrellfah2C.so plugin - which complains that it was not started in Gkrellm Client Mode ( -s server_name ). The plugin then causes gkrellm to segfault off.

This problem has been repaired in version 1.3-1 released today, and older version have been hidden from view.... read more

gkrellfahCS Ver 1.3 Available, Central Logfile Viewer Added!

Significant updates to the central logfile viewer were added in this release. With the expectation that you would run gkrellmd and this gkrellfahCS plugin on multiple machine, the plugin has been updated to collect info on completed work units and forward them to a single central file. Now that file can be viewed from a popup window or the configuration panels. This release is stable and unless problems are reported - not likely to change soon.... read more

Version 0.9.8 Supports F@H V5+

This release resolves the problem of monitoring F@H clients that are owned by other (or background) users; it can now monitor and configured F@H client. Further changes have been made to support incremental upgrades - ie. FAH500-Linux.exe, FAH502-Linux.exe, ....

PLEASE USE REL 0.9.7-3 if you haven't upgraded to F@H V5 !

Please continue to use release 0-9.7-3 if you haven't upgraded to Folding@home client version 5.00. All F@H Clients versions 4 and below are supported with THAT release. The QUEUE.DAT file makes a big change with V5 clients, so V4 & V5 are no longer compatible.

Posted by James Scott Jr. 2004-08-16

F@H CLIENT VERSION 5.00 supported with rel 0-9.7-4!

The new Folding@home linux console client program "FAH500-Linux.exe", is supported with release 0-9.7-4 of GkrellFah2 available today. This release should only be used by users that HAVE ALREADY installed version 5 of the F@H client. The F@H client transforms the queue.dat file in such a way that earlier clients will not be able to use the queue.dat file every again. So once you move to V5 you can't go back. GkrellFah2 will match this progression forward with clients - dropping new feature/function support for older clients (<5). Please send an email to skoona@users.sourceforge.net if you have any issues with this release, or post a msg in this help forum.

INSTALL PROBLEM FIXED !!!

* Fixed an initial startup bug, when paths are not configured. This first execution after installation needs the correct path to FAH clients working directory in order to monitor it proplerly. Before it was segfault'ing on the very first install, and until a valid directory (that has FAH4Client... installed). I know test for this condition and display an appropriate message.

Release 0.9.7 is GREAT!!!

Release 0.9.7 has it all. Monitoring of up to eight FAH clients at once, estimated time to completion based on CPU utilization and due date of workunit. The code name (i.e. TINKER, GROMACS, etc) is available via panel options, and the StanFord Points table is automatically downloaded and parsed to ensure the POINTS display choices have the most recent info possible.

Posted by James Scott Jr. 2004-07-22

WORKUNIT POINTS ONLINE!!!

Added the number of points the current workunit is worth to the tooltips mouseover window, and to the userinfo tab in the configuration panel. Verified ETA calcs to be correct for any machine config - i.e. SMP or UNI. Tested with GkrellM2 V2.2.2.
