I'm currently using a RealTek 8139.
It nerver works right. I always get these timeout.The
problem seems to occur when the load of my local
network is high.

I tried wihtout MMIO -> same pbm. I although tried
rtl8139 from D. Becker, same problem.

I'm currently using kernel 2.4.4, but the problem was
the same with kernel 2.2.x, with both 8139too and rtl8139.

My computer is a AMD ThunderBird, with Asus A7V
MotherBoard (Via Chipset).
