Would this be due to the Xen kernel? I admit, I have
not tested this with a non-Xen kernel yet, but ethtool
seems to have broken on two PCs after installing FC6.
One is a Compaq DL360 server, and the other is a Dell
D610 laptop.

# rpm -q ethtool
ethtool-3-1.2.2

# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6xen #1 SMP
Mon Oct 16 15:11:19 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

# dmesg|grep -i intel
e100: Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Driver, 3.5.10-k2-NAPI
e100: Copyright(c) 1999-2005 Intel Corporation

# ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:

# ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off duplex full
Cannot get current device settings: Operation not supported
