Hi, I don't think it's a good idea to close as fixed tickets that aren't really fixed. SF.net does not allow me to reopen a ticket :-( so I'll add it again here. The problem is reproducible and present for over a year. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about dropped mail even if other mail gets through.
I've been trying to contact Bob Hepple for over a year now, but all his mail bounces.
Here are two of several attempts:
<bhepple@users.sf.net>: host mx.sourceforge.net[216.34.181.68] said: 550
unknown user (in reply to RCPT TO command)
<bhepple@freeshell.org>: conversation with mail.freeshell.org[192.94.73.19]
timed out while receiving the initial server greeting
I wonder if the users.sf.net address may have been shut down because of issues with the freeshell.org address.
Just tried again one more time. sf.net already bounced.

I just sent out a mail to Bob's addresses above and the new gmail address. So far I received bounces for your new gmail address and and the one here at users.sf.net. Is that some kind of new anti-spam tactic, to publish bouncing mail addresses?

WTF! The mail you provide in the whois for your own domain bounces, too. You have no postmaster@ and probably no abuse@, either. All of that is mandatory.
