Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I don't have the time to maintain Gjiten anymore but I hope it's still useful. Hi,
current situation:
================
- search for: "hello"
- option: "beginning"
- probable results:
hello world
hello my friend
hello dear
hello
hello foo bar
suggestion:
===============
put best matches (meaning exact machtes) in the first place. The rest goes in a specified (alphabetical?) order.
example:
- search from above
- results:
hello
hello dear
hello foo bar
hello my friend
hello world
In case the (existing?) developer team thinks it's a good idea, but are too busy to implement it, I'd try it myself. Although code-knowledged people might do it within 5minutes, wheres I need two days :D
good work!
best regards
DarkTrick

Hi, I guess gjiten works for most people as is, including me. Others may have moved on as there are a couple new japanese dictionary tools on the linux market nowadays, not to mention the online stuff and browser extensions, etc. Sad thing is that I don't have the time to maintain the project, though there would be some things to do (e.g. refactor for gnome3/gtk3). If anyone wants to fix things or would like to maintain the project I can give commit access to the sourceforge repo. Guys/ladies/robots, Just dropping in to say hi! I've been using Gjiten on my Archlinux laptop for a while now, and it really is a great dictionary. I haven't found the partial match tool in any other Japanese dictionary, and it is priceless for a beginner like me as you can just type in whatever you guessed about a word without worrying about the rest. I noticed the last change was back in 2006, any activity after that? Maybe you've all moved on, I guess. Sad thing is, I can't really recommend Gjiten to most people as it is Linux-only, and people I know use Windows or OSX on a daily basis. Any plans (or existing binaries) for OSX or Windows? That being said, I'm willing to try and build a bundle for OSX. I can't make any promises as to when, but I haven't been satisfied by other existing dictionaries on that platform (Tagaini Jisho is the best I could find, and it doesn't even come close to Gjiten), so IMO there's a void to fill ;) Anyway, thanks for making a great application! Occasionally, gjiten shows an empty radical list. To reproduce: 1. start gjiten 2. click on kanjidic 3. click on "Search By Radical" 4. click on "Show Radical List" -> radical window appears OK 5. close radical window 6. close kanjidic window 7. repeat steps 2-4 -> empty radical window Reported in the Novell bugzilla as: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=348100 -- Mike FABIAN <mf...@su...> http://www.suse.de/~mfabian I Unicode |

Unless you intend to make the interface dramatically different, I would think it would be more useful to submit patches for changes/enhancements to the existing code. Just my 2円. Hi, I was hoping you would tell us what the bugs or deficiencies are, file a bugreport , send a patch etc like it is usually done in the open source community. good luck. Hi all, I didn't get a reply to the message below so I'd just like to notify that I'll fork the software under a new name. Of course this will be GNU GPL. The project is to be in C++, and I'll also try to put the user interface so it's able to compile under various user interface options. If anyone's interested, let me know. I think the raw xml file is not suitable for using it directly in the dictionary software for performance reasons, so it should be transformed into something else, like you probably do it with the sql interface. Hello Ben > Is the gjiten project still being developed? > > I'm interested in either joining the project or using the source code > of gjiten in another project. > > Thanks. I think Botond doesn't do much work on it any more. gjiten is very stable and has (IMHO) the features you'd expect from an electronic Japanese dictionary, so that might not be a bad tink. I have written a Mac OS X "clone" of gjiten for daily use with almost the same functionality (minus the kanji dictionary). I didn't release it to the public though. Since the gjiten code relies heavily on glib/gtk+, I decided to use sqlite3 as database search engine instead. I mainly use the Wadoku Jiten (German-Japanese), which is in the process of being switched to a more powerful XML format. I was considering implementing that too. On the other hand, I have no idea the edict maintainers would be willing to switch, should the format definition become (finally) finalized. Regards, Gregor |

Is the gjiten project still being developed? I'm interested in either joining the project or using the source code of gjiten in another project. Thanks. |

Hi I'm trying to build gjiten and can't get past the configure step. I'm using a ubuntu 7.04 and this is one of the first modules I've built on Linux in some time. The error message from configure is: ============== checking for GJITEN... configure: error: Package requirements (libgnome-2.0 >= 2.2.0 libgnomeui-2.0 >= 2.2.0 libglade-2.0 gconf-2.0) were not met: No package 'libgnomeui-2.0' found No package 'libglade-2.0' found ============= libgnomeui and libglade are under /usr/lib as: libglade-2.0.so.0.0.7 libgnomeui-2.so.0.1788.4 I can see that pkg-cfg is being used to query the rpm package database for versions on these files, but when I run ' /usr/bin/pkg-config --list-all' and grep the output for this libs, they don't show up. For some reason the Synaptic package manager won't allow me to 'reinstall' these libs. I'm stuck. Where should I go from here?? Thank you Steve S. |

============================================================================
*课程背景介绍资料:
认证是市场行为,国际上大部分产品取得安全认证是进入市场的必备条件之一;
认证种类是由市场和竞争对手决定;
(HE-Health/Environment)
(Typr Approval)
