When I goto Kinfo Center the Glidepoint is shown in the usb device list. I even unplugged it and re plugged it in.

Anything else I should try?

  I mean, have you set DEVICE_MOUSE in the gizmod config script (/usr/share/gizmo/scripts/gizmoDaemonConfig.py) to "GlidePoint"?
