It is a bit strange that gitstat, which does web-based statistics in git repository, is itself developed using CVS instead of using Git.
Well, moving from CVS to Git would probably mean moving from SourceForge to Savane, BerliOS, Gitorious or GitHub, all of which have at least some basic support for git repositories.
It's been on my todo list ever since I started on gitstat. There hasn't been any updates to gitstat in the last 6 months or so. I'm pretty much the only 'developer' and currently don't have time to work on this project. There are a few fixes in my local (CVS) tree but I'm more a GIT person myself as well. So maybe it's time to bite the bullet.
