I have not done any real work on the GINP for about 2 years.  It is not
as feature rich as other galleries. However because it display the
pictures that are on the file system you can use any file system
mechanism to upload them ftp, scp, nfs....  However if you want to use a
web browser then WebDav is maybe worth looking at.

I was trying out GINP and find that it's really an awesome project, but is wondering whether it will serve my purpose.
I'm trying to create a web application for photo album sharing (like flickr). It will allow the multiple-users to upload their photos via the web browser and share it with their friends.

1. I'm wondering why is GINP stored the photos in the folder (directory) instead of folder? JGallery(Web-based JAlbum) is also implemented in this way, is it better than storing photo in database?

2. Is it possible for this GINP to support multi-user upload their photos via the web-browser? If yes, can u give some advises on it?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Agree with the Maven Only build, for now it is much less work.

The log4J WARN is not an error.  You can set the environment variable
"log4j.configuration" to point to you log4j config file to get loggin
output.  (Search for log4j.configuration on
http://logging.apache.org/log4j/docs/manual.html  for more info.)

To get a build skip tests
> mvn install -Dmaven.test.skip=true

Find out what test fails:
> mvn site
Browse the HTML site in ./target/site/  for surefire results and you
will get test failure info.

Hi, Doug.

I'm testing the latest trunk and get an error in net.sf.ginp.TestSetup:-

java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/TestSetup/ginp.xml (Is a directory)

However, net.sf.ginp.TestSetup does not fail at all, even though it is 
building /tmp/TestGinpMode/ginp.xml.

When I look at TestGinpModel.setUp(), I see ugly but correct logic for 
hand-building the directory path to the temporary ginp.xml file.

However, TestSetup is using SetupManagerImpl.writeConfig() to create its 
test file... it does NOT do File.mkdirs(), so my linux java 1.5 jdk 
creates /tmp/TestSetup/ginp.xml as a directory, rather than a file.

I think you mentioned having fixed a similar problem... and it looks 
like your code in the (working) TestGinpModel logic.

Any comments?
